A liqueur with a dark berry hue, Gabriel Boudier Crème de Cassis de Dijon is produced by steeping black currant berries in a neutral spirit. This creation contains no preservatives or artificial colors, only the addition of sugar. The company, originally named The House of Fontbonne, was established in 1874 and has continuously produced Crème de Cassis since that time. It is available in both 20% and 16% ABV versions.

A powerful, unsweetened flavor of dried currant and berries, unlike other sweeter cassis. It has a rich, syrupy texture with a perfect blend of sweet and tart. The bottle is lovely and the liqueur's color is striking. It's great neat as a cordial, or for use in a Kir, Kir Royale, or other contemporary drinks.
I bought a small bottle while in France. It has a very authentic currant flavor and color, and it tastes incredible.
