Chamarel Peated Whisky Cask Finish Pure Cane Rum

Nose: A gentle smokiness with deep, dark fruits. Palate: It’s like a very rich fruitcake with abundant baking spices and fruit, featuring some notes that taste nearly burnt. The richness outweighs the sweetness. Finish: Faint smoke with fruitcake and oak. This is delightful and my top rum choice yet. I’m curious about the origin of the whisky casks; I’d venture they previously held Highland or peated Speyside whisky due to the milder smoke that lacks the medicinal qualities often found in Islays. 8.5/10

Very smooth to drink but also leaves a great lingering taste. Tastes of spice developing into a sweet and smoky finish.
