Moshe Lake 5.0

Initially, figs and prunes on the nose. Some dry wood notes. The aroma is very dry in the glass. It smells like the beach: minerally, with seashells and a faint whiff of dried fish in the distance. It borders on being salty but isn't; you anticipate saltiness, yet it's absent. Truly a quite dry aroma, reminiscent of certain dry Armagnacs. Wonderfully green, herbaceous, and grassy. It begins to sweeten over time, showing brown sugar. Not excessively sweet caramel. A hint of white pepper. Again, the beach – specifically working or fishing beaches, not leisure ones. The scent of sand, if sand had a smell. Boats in dry dock. Ginger root. Dry nutmeg. ~ Simply captivating. I can practically hear the seagulls. ~! A bit of water releases sugarcane and molasses, slightly reducing the dryness. It becomes sweeter and richer in the mouth. Tastes like cola cubes. Coca Cola. The faintest trace of Asian cooking spices. Initial impressions from the first pour. - "Considering what it is," a perfect score! A robust, unadulterated, straightforward RUM. YES!
