I'm pretty sure this is an unpeated Bunnahabhain, but the first thing that struck me was the immediate background smoke; it's not intense or peaty, but it's definitely present in a small amount as the whisky hits your palate. It's certainly a sweet drink, but sherry spiciness and a high ABV do a good job of balancing the molasses/dark fruit flavors. Someone with an inexperienced palate might mistake this for an aged Caribbean rum. I'd probably save this for an evening/dessert drink, not because of the sweetness but because of the INTENSE punch it delivers to your palate.

The perfect dessert whisky. It offers notes of sticky toffee pudding, cinnamon buns, honey, berries, and chocolate. Aroma: Sugared raisins, fig jam, cooked dark fruits, red licorice, roasted honey nuts, lavender Taste: Initial sweet honey syrup, rich dark fruits, licorice, fig jam, sugary toffee, strawberry jam Finish: A long, syrupy finish with delightful notes of honey-glazed nuts, strawberry jam, and sherry sweetness Amazing. Simply amazing. People describe this as 'liquid dessert,' and that's entirely accurate. If you're not a fan of sweet whiskies, this won't be for you, but I absolutely adore it.

If tasted without knowing what it was, the oily texture and syrupy sweetness might suggest Tawny Port, except for an undercurrent of nutmeg, particularly in the long finish. The spices complement the brown sugar flavors, making it a satisfying choice for dessert or a nightcap, perfect with a robe and slippers.

Quite possibly the finest whiskey I've ever encountered! It has a thick, creamy texture filled with rich sherry and a touch of peat to balance it out. Truly amazing.

I took a small taste of a friend's pour at Wheated, and it was really good. It has a nice flavor of raisin, sticky toffee pudding, and chocolate.
