About this bottle

Cardhu 16 Year The Hidden Paradise of Black Rock is one of eight bottlings included in Diageo’s 2022 Special Release collection. Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson selected each whisky in the collection, and all were bottled at cask strength. The theme for the 2022 collection is "Elusive Expressions," and Diageo commissioned digital illustrators/artists Ken Taylor and Kevin Fong to create the packaging artwork. Maturation involved refill and recharred American oak casks, along with Jamaican pot still rum casks for finishing. Released in October 2022. (SRP $179.99)

Elinor Bello 3.5

This is quite good, but honestly doesn't measure up to last year's version. Cardhu appears to have a relatively delicate profile, so the rum sweetness tends to overwhelm some of the subtler notes. Consequently, this is a pleasant, sweet scotch with minor fruit and floral hints, but not one I would actively seek out.

Roxanne Bonds 3.0

To me, it was primarily a spicy cinnamon flavor.
