Aroma: Delightful honey and tropical fruits emerge, with lemon being prominent, followed by peach and apricot. A drop of water reveals subtle notes of oak, vanilla, and nuts. Taste: Sweet oak and honey begin the experience, with a delicate sherry presence. A blend of spices and sweet fruits develops over time, creating a rich and complex profile. Finish: Malted barley with a hint of oil and an earthy touch, plus some bitterness. The finish is smooth and long. Overall: A magnificent whisky with great complexity. It's a smooth and adaptable dram with character, subtle aromas, and a great taste. It has to be among the best 10-year-olds available.

NOSE – Honey, a hint of vanilla, and briny, like the ocean air. BODY – white pepper, barley, briny, red licorice, hay, velvety. FINISH – long, with honey and a light smoke right at the end. OVERALL – A consistently good product! It may not be the most intricate scotch (though not simplistic), but it excels at its intended purpose. The nose perfectly defines what one might expect from a "classic" scotch. Absolutely fantastic! It made me want another glass.

The aroma is packed with powerful herbs, dry vegetation, subtle citrus, and salt, along with a fruity sweetness that remains elusive. The palate is like an evolving chameleon, offering mouth-watering Islay maritime flavors and citrus that start off crisp and sharp. As it sits in the glass, it mellows and becomes fruity, yet retains all its flavors. Amazing! Why have I waited so long to try this?

When first opened, there was an off-putting smell, like spoiled buttermilk. After letting the spirit sit in the glass for a bit, that smell vanished and I began to enjoy it. In fact, I loved it. It was creamy, sweet, and complex. Can be enjoyed as an easy evening drink, but also offers plenty for enthusiasts to delve into. Wonderful stuff, it's a shame it's no longer available.

The nose is soft and savory, with notes of vanilla and apricot, transitioning to a sharper teriyaki glaze scent. The palate has creamy brown sugar, leading to a spicy nutmeg finish. It's rather unusual and a bit strange. It's my least preferred of the expressions from this distillery I've sampled.

This really improves after being exposed to air for a while and revisited a few days later. It significantly reduces the initial unpleasantness and makes the experience much more enjoyable. Perfect for a mid-week drink.
