A monumental whiskey. The nose offers notes of hot honey and peaches, evolving into a complex yet harmonious blend of mature sherry and light citrus. Worn leather emerges on the mid-palate, leading to a pleasing and lasting warmth in the finish.

About this bottle
The Balvenie Tun 1401 is a unique, non-age statement whisky. Master Blender David Stewart combines Scotch whiskies aged over several decades, with eleven rested in traditional whisky casks and three in sherry butts. Following this release, Batch 9, the Tun 1401 series will cease production due to its limited 2,000-liter capacity being insufficient for global demand. A new, larger vat, Tun 1509, has been constructed for future special releases, capable of holding four times the volume. It will be used to blend 35 American oak barrels with 7 European sherry butts, marrying them for several months in warehouse 24, mirroring the process for Tun 1401. The initial Tun 1509 release is anticipated before Christmas. For now, Batch 9 is considered a collector's item and a timeless single malt to be savored.

I was given a sample without knowing its market value. Having already consumed alcohol, I drank it quickly and immediately regretted not savoring it.
The aroma is very caramel-like. Very smooth with hardly any lingering taste.
Damn, this is fantastic.
