About this bottle
Bacardí's Maestro de Ron is a tribute to the succession of master blenders at the distillery, originating from its time in Cuba. Current Master Blender Manuel Jorge Cutillas and fellow "maestros" developed this rum through a dual-aging method: rums aged for at least one year are combined and then matured for an additional three months in white oak before being filtered. The label features a biplane over a tropical scene, honoring Bacardí's invitation to Americans to drink rum legally in Cuba during Prohibition.

It has a hint of tropical fruit and fennel, but like Superior, it's still dry and heavily alcoholic. For just one dollar more, though, I'd choose this over Superior any day. $29 in Ontario.
Harsh solvent notes. No improvement over standard Bacardi.
Not the best. Perhaps good for budget-friendly mixed drinks?
Smooth, mild, and invigorating perfect for cocktails
A white rum that left no impression after drinking... mmmm.
