Anouuush! Peach Brandy

This appears to be an example of Armenian fruit brandy called "oghi". The fun name, which means "Sweeeet!" and has an exclamation point, plus the low cost, caught my eye while browsing spirits online. Then I saw it was 50% ABV. How could I pass it up? Specifics like aging or how it was distilled are hard to find for this brandy, but I suspect it's unaged eau-de-vie made from peaches. Given the low price, I was naturally skeptical it might be a cheap "brandy" with added fruit juice, flavorings, or sweeteners, but to my not-very-experienced palate, that doesn't seem to be the case. The liquid is clear and not thick. The smell is strongly of peach. It has a creamy feel and brings to mind peach yogurt. It's quite pleasing, though eventually, sharper alcohol scents emerge. Like its appearance, the taste confirms it doesn't contain sweeteners or additives. It's very dry and almost harsh. Disappointingly, it tastes much less like peach than it smells, and there's a strong alcohol burn. The peach flavor does appear in the middle of the taste and is combined with a tart citrus note in the aftertaste. It's difficult for me to score this because it's a bit unusual. The aroma is wonderful, but the taste is too rough to match it. I've made some experimental cocktails (anyone know "Ti Pouuush!"?), and it does soften a little when mixed, but that also dulls the aroma, which is its best feature. I expect many would score this much lower than I have. Lastly, I have to say it's really, really enjoyable to say "Anouuush!", and I might have given it a 2.75 if it were simply called "Boring Peach Brandy". In fact, while this might seem like a typical review to someone unaware, it took immense effort and strict self-control to avoid saying the name constantly. Remember, this is a 50% ABV bottle for $20, which is a decent value for any brandy that's at least passable (which this is). The Anouuush! brand (yes, I slipped up) also offers other oghi/eaux-de-vie, like apricot, cornelian cherry, and mulberry, and I plan to sample them eventually. It's like, alcohol doesn't expire, right? You can spend $20 and keep this on your shelf for months, and then when the right moment arises with some friends over and the mood is perfect, you can take it out and say "Anouuush!". Spread over a year, that's less than $2 a month for the pleasure of saying "Anouuush!" as you bring out a bottle of "Anouuush!" and offer your friends a glass of "Anouush!" and, well, I need to stop this review now because it's clear my ability to resist saying "Anouuush!" is rapidly disappearing.
