Adictivo Tequila Añejo

I had high expectations for this Tequila, to be honest... While not all añejos taste the same, this one is exceptionally sweet! It's super sweet. You expect some sweetness in añejos, but this is over the top! It is very smooth, I must admit. It has a great color, and the aroma is very sweet, like slightly burnt sugarcane (brown sugar). The vanilla is present, perhaps a hint of cooked agave here and there. Ultimately, it's tequila. I haven't done extensive research on it, so I don't know if it's traditionally made or if it has additives, which it tastes like it does. But you could enjoy this after dinner as a dessert!

Far too sugary. It felt like I was drinking port wine instead of a premium Añejo tequila. Positive aspect: It was very mellow. The aroma was very sweet. Excellent for individuals new to tequila. This is not what I anticipated from a tequila aged in French oak barrels for over 20 months. It tasted artificial, as if 4 ounces of maple syrup or caramel were added to every 750mL bottle.

Could this be any sweeter? I was surprised. After a week of drinking (relatively) good tequilas in Mexico, this one was difficult to handle. I prefer a bit of a bite, but this has none. I might let my girlfriend use it in margaritas, even without added sweeteners. (Sigh)

This is an extremely sweet, dessert-like beverage in a glass. Brown sugar, caramel, agave. Sweeter than most, but priced significantly lower than comparable spirits like dos artes, Cincoro, and others I've sampled, which are priced at least $50 higher.

Some self-proclaimed tequila aficionados might claim this is full of additives, but if I'm going to drink something, I prefer it to taste great. Even if they did add extra flavor. It's a truly underrated tequila.

Sweet, similar to the Plata and Reposado expressions. I detect more oak in this one. It seems more mature, and it likely is. However, I still wouldn't purchase a full bottle – it's simply too sweet for my preference. And I do enjoy sweetness.
