California-based Wolves Whiskey was founded by James Bond and Jon Buscemi. They commissioned Marko Karakasevic, the master distiller at Charbay Distillery in Mendocino County, to create First Run. This whiskey combines three components: a stout beer double-distilled and aged 8 years in French oak; a pilsner beer double-distilled and aged 5 years in new American oak; and a sourced Indiana rye. Wolves First Run is bottled at 106 proof, with only 898 bottles produced.

The nose is packed with a strong hop scent, dry and with herbal notes. The taste follows, it's intricate, herbal, and bitter, yet still quite enjoyable. A subtle sweetness provides balance.
