A quick impression. There don't appear to be many reviews for this, and it's not widely available. The nose initially seems astringent, but then reveals pleasant vanilla and barrel tannins. However, over time, the astringency returns and overshadows any positive qualities this pour might have shown.

About this bottle
Willie's Distillery, located in Ennis, Montana, sources its rye whisky from Canada, classifying it as genuine Canadian whisky. Robin and Willie Blazer then reduce the proof of this Alberta-origin whisky with Montana water to 40% ABV. The square bottle and its label are designed to evoke imagery of the old American West.

This is one of the rare Canadian whiskies I enjoy. It is smooth, mildly sweet, and perfect with ice, which is how I prefer to drink it.
