Legacy Blended Canadian Whisky

Color: A deep brown, like tanned leather, characterizes this Canadian blend. The legs are extremely thin, yet they cling to the glass's edge for some time. Nose: The aroma is bold and demanding attention. Surprisingly, for only 40% ABV, it stings the nostrils if you don't inhale with your mouth slightly open. Cotton candy is prominent, accompanied by the scent of a craft store. There's a metallic note that's hard to place; it reminds me of the smell from a summer job in a glass and metal framing shop. Taste: The palate offers sweet corn and buttery notes, balanced by some spice. Hints of almond and cashews are present, along with a dry red wine character. Finish: The finish is medium to long, leaving a dry, tingling sensation in the mouth with a cherry flavor. Thoughts: While not groundbreaking, it's a respectable Canadian whisky. Their website could use improvement; the design was appealing, but the content lacked useful information. (A bit random, but I felt it was worth mentioning.) Kudos to Buffalo Trace for their efforts! Bought this for a bargain price of $8.99 for 750ml. Yes, that's correct, a full bottle for under nine bucks. Now for the tasting... The aroma is barely perceptible, with nothing really standing out on the nose; a hint of sweetness but not overwhelming. Upon tasting, there's a surprisingly smooth sensation on the front of the palate, followed by floral notes. It's not my top choice, but it's acceptable. It goes down smoothly at first, but then a strong alcohol burn follows, which is unpleasant. Considering the $8.99 cost, I'd definitely buy it again. Even at the regular $20 price, I'd consider it if Canadian whiskies are your preference. Compared to Crown Royal, though, it's in a different league – the minor league, that is.

A definite surprise... I acquired this bourbon as a 'shot in the dark... why not try it' purchase (we've all done it)....you notice something new... the staff says 'it's NEW here and on sale' So....you give it a shot. I, not being someone who typically buys anything from Canada... OK....a few things....decided to sample this. The flavor was smooth like most blends are. NO single prominent flavor...but it was certainly enjoyable. I will offer this spirit to anyone who visits. The price was more than reasonable. The taste was a 3.8 and a.2 for a good price...I might buy it again.

Smell: very faint vanilla, not much else. Taste: watery caramel, with some pleasant spice on the finish. Hints of citrus were also detected. Not extremely complex, but not disagreeable either. A slightly chalky aftertaste. Adding water enhances the spicy aroma, but significantly reduces the flavors on the palate. Overall: A decent value, but likely not something I would repurchase.

Very smooth and easy to consume. A sweet aroma, primarily vanilla. Easy on the palate with a good mouthfeel despite being thin. Creamy and mildly spiced. A brief finish, but the creamy sensation persists, which I appreciate. Another excellent whisky from the Buffalo Trace distillery family.

Quite average. The bottle itself is impressive – it looks elegant. However, the flavor is rather light. It possesses the typical smoothness of most Canadian whiskeys with sweet notes, but not much else. It's drinkable, but I wouldn't purchase it again.
