The drive for excellence and the constant pursuit of superior quality characterize the Vale Verde Group's core philosophy. Its founder, a beverage industry veteran of over five decades, began his journey with Coca-Cola bottling in Minas Gerais. He is also credited with creating Kaiser beer and Kero Coco, the nation's first boxed coconut water, while continuing his entrepreneurial ventures in the sector. Vale Verde's establishment was a gradual process, initiated when the founder received a small still from his uncle, sparking his interest in the cachaça market. Initially, the limited production was shared only among acquaintances. However, the acclaim from connoisseurs and the distillate's exceptional quality paved the way for commercialization. The Vale Verde brand was launched in 1985. During this time, the founder explored new methods to enhance the fermentation and distillation of the spirit. In Europe, he observed techniques used in fine whiskey production that could be adapted for cachaças. Incorporating European expertise, Vale Verde Extra Premium was developed, aged for three years and adhering to the same manufacturing standards as international spirits, employing methods that ensure the drink's distinctive quality and taste. Subsequently, Vale Verde cachaça began garnering awards, leading to its growing renown across Brazil. The estate, preserving its production heritage, started attracting numerous visitors. This evolution led to the creation of the Vale Verde Ecological Park in 2002, a sanctuary housing approximately 1,300 animals, including birds, reptiles, and mammals. The property, known as Cachaças Theme Park, located in Betim, within the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region of Minas Gerais, offers various recreational and adventurous activities for families. Within the park, visitors can observe the entire 100% sustainable production process of Vale Verde cachaças and explore the Cachaça Museum, which details the beverage's history from ancient Egypt. The museum boasts over two thousand distinct labels, in addition to the complete collection of the Vale Verde brand. Although the park is no longer open to the public, the Vale Verde Group remains focused on achieving sustainable expansion. With six tons of sugarcane processed daily during harvest season, approximately 140,000 liters of cachaça were produced in 2014. A portion of the sugarcane residue was utilized as fuel for production machinery, with the remainder serving as organic fertilizer for the sugarcane fields. The manufacturing of Cachaça Vale Verde Extra Premium 1000ml is entirely handcrafted, and its Extra Premium designation is validated by the Ministry of Agriculture, which oversees the barrel aging process. Following this, cachaças are matured for three to twelve years in oak casks, with an alcohol content of 40%. Another quality assurance measure includes process audits conducted by Inmetro, the entity that awards Vale Verde its certification seal. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional.
