The Uncle Nearest 1820 Nearest Green Edition Single Barrel was introduced on January 31, 2019. In accordance with Tennessee whiskey regulations, the spirit is filtered through maple charcoal before bottling. It is aged for 11 years. As these are individual barrel releases, the alcohol by volume and taste profile will differ.

I'm a big fan of the brand; given the price of this bottle, I assumed the age meant smoothness. However, this is actually much more complex than the other Nearest editions. If you prefer bourbon with less bite, add an ice cube or choose the 1856 batch. I'm glad I tried it since it's usually hard to find, but I can't drink it neat (which I need to be able to do if I'm paying over $100 for whiskey.)
Darker in color than the 1856; its longer aging is apparent. A lingering smoky yet sweet character with some heat from Tennessee at the end. A pleasant drink on its own.
Very strong flavor; the 1856 is actually much smoother if that suits your preference better. The toasted maple is very prominent in this one.
Smooth, oaky, caramels with just the right kick. Works well with or without ice, no mixer needed. Pairs perfectly with a fine cigar!🥃‼️
Loads of maple and butterscotch, with spice and oak. A mild burn, a little smoke. It's delicious.
I'm not certain about the specific release, but this particular serving was outstanding.
