About this bottle
The second batch of Jack Daniel's 12 Year Tennessee Whiskey is the most recent addition to the brand's annual Aged Series. While minor differences may exist between batches, all were created using the identical mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye. The whiskey underwent charcoal mellowing and was aged in toasted and charred American white oak barrels. Initially aged on the upper levels of the barrelhouse, the barrels were later moved to lower racks to prolong the maturation process. This whiskey became available in limited quantities across the U.S. starting in February 2024, with a suggested price of $94.99 for a 700ml bottle.

Nose - Abundant honey, vanilla, and cinnamon. A delightful aroma reminiscent of the brand. Hints of banana persist, a common characteristic. A pleasing, intricate, and harmonious scent.
Palate - Honey, banana, and subtle oak. That's essentially it. It's a good taste, and the aroma is amazing, but the palate doesn't quite match up to the first batch.
Finish - Lingering cinnamon, oak, and leather, a very traditional whiskey conclusion. Some vanilla and banana reappear to round it off.

A blend of bananas foster, s'mores, and spice.
Nose: Bananas, lychees, lemon meringue pie, marshmallows, Nilla wafers, peaches, strawberries, kiwis, brown sugar, almonds.
Palate: Maple syrup, bananas, dark chocolate, apricots, peaches, butterscotch, Demerara syrup, nutmeg, sweet oak, cinnamon, pecan pie.
Finish: Rum raisins, molasses, bananas, caramel, vanilla, coconuts, dark chocolate.

A fantastic pour overall. The nose offers a very familiar sweet banana, reminiscent of Jack Daniels, accompanied by burnt brown sugar and oak. The palate is intricate, sweet, and oily, carrying through all the elements from the nose with the addition of candied nuts and a faint trace of cinnamon, creating a genuinely unique flavor.

Nose presents deep, rich notes of charred old oak alongside a sweet essence of banana and molasses.
The taste is powerful and bold initially, with a punch of oak and molasses. It coats the palate exceptionally well, offering a wild buttery quality. The finish is extended, featuring barrel char, powdered-sugar banana notes, molasses, and a hint of charred almond. Truly excellent.

The alcohol content dominates the initial taste, but it mellows with time. Notes of caramel, toffee, maple, and dried fruit begin to emerge. It's very good, though I'm uncertain if it lives up to the anticipation or the cost.
