1oz neat. Juniper and earthiness (likely the pecan) on the nose. A quality I can only describe as vapor-like on the tongue. Flavors of juniper, lavender, and anise with a woody finish (again, likely the pecan). A nice, floral gin. Makes me want to seek out the antique version for a bit more character.
This gin's distinct lavender notes never overpower the palate or other spirits. Instead, Waterloo No. 9 wonderfully enhances a cocktail's flavor profile. When added to a classic 50:50 martini or G&T, it brings depth and complexity to the taste.
The floral lavender is prominent in both the aroma and taste, with the juniper taking a more supporting role. Less sweet than Tanqueray, with a bit more dryness on the tongue than that spirit. It's high on my list for gin, so I plan to always keep it stocked.
Pleasantly floral and harmonious. An excellent gin and tonic with elderflower tonic.
Great botanical flavor. Mostly smooth.
