Tolon Tolon Whiskey Cream

This drink's hue is deeper than that of Bailey's, and it carries that familiar Tolon Tolon scent. Upon tasting, some peculiar herbal notes emerge. It presents as somewhat richer and more whisky-forward than Bailey's, though this isn't necessarily a positive. Strangely, I now recognize Tolon Tolon as tasting like Clan MacGregor combined with another spirit. It's not particularly pleasant, even though it more overtly resembles a whiskey product. While Bailey's is a tad harsher and seems like it might contain vodka, its flavor profile is richer and fruitier, with clearer floral characteristics, making it feel more like it's made with Irish Whiskey and possessing flavors that complement cream better. The aroma is earthier, meatier, and grassier, akin to scotch, contrasting with Bailey's sweet, creamy, slightly sour, fruity, and floral notes. It smells woody and aged, but also of cream, suggesting it might be slightly off. The palate is creamy and rich, with a chocolate-like element alongside a significant amount of hay. While not excessively sweet, it undeniably contains some sugar. I could readily accept this being low-grade scotch mixed with sugar and cream. It's not awful, but it also resembles a cheap cocktail. Bailey's offers a more inviting scent, evoking thoughts of Christmas with its fruity taste reminiscent of candied fruit in fruitcake, bringing to mind nutmeg and allspice. Bailey's is also considerably creamier, with an eggnog-like consistency and flavor. Bailey's has a slight tartness, but it's easily attributed to the whiskey, much like eggnog with added whiskey. The more pronounced chocolate flavor here is appealing, but it's not what I seek in a whiskey cream, though it's not bad. The scotch essence isn't inherently unpleasant, but ultimately, I desire something more festive and versatile in a whiskey cream. This would still be enjoyable by the fire, but I'd prefer separate servings of decent scotch and whiskey cream. The scotch notes aren't terrible, but they significantly detract from the overall flavor, especially given the evident low quality of the scotch.
