Saint Brendan's Irish Cream

This is a truly excellent Irish Cream! (Of course, most Irish Creams are delicious; the only bad one I recall was wine-based, not whiskey.) On the surface, all Irish Creams seem alike, a combination of cream and Irish whiskey, typically at 17% ABV. However, not all cream tastes the same or possesses the same butterfat content. Cattle breed, diet, and climate all play a role. (If you've ever milked a cow after it grazed on wild onion, you'd understand.) Furthermore, most Irish creams differ in the proportions and quality of other elements like chocolate, coffee, vanilla, sugar or corn syrup, caramel coloring, and potentially other ingredients. In any case, Saint Brendan's is, for me, top-tier. It's rich in flavor and well-balanced. I'm not certain when the change occurred, but only The Quiet Man blended Irish whiskey is now used for this cream – a positive development. I'm unsure of its origin, but on the mid-palate and in the finish, I detect a toasted coconut flavor, reminiscent of certain chocolates. This is a superior product at a reasonable price – what's not to love?

A thick, smooth cordial from Ireland with an aromatic beginning of whiskey and fresh cream. Its substantial body concluded with a balanced, medium-length finish. Multiple years from 2000 to 2019 are noted. It remains my top selection!

My go-to for a weekend coffee addition. It's smooth, rich, and offers subtle chocolate notes when mixed with coffee. It's less expensive than Baileys and boasts a better taste. It's best enjoyed chilled and added to hot coffee. The bottle is also distinctive.

It has the appearance of chocolate milk (beige). The aroma and flavor are of cream, cocoa, vanilla, coconut, and grass. There is sweetness. The body is somewhat heavy and velvety. Saint Brendan's finishes moderately sweet. RJT

I concur with the recent article from Distillers. It remains one of the best whiskey creams available for the price. Finished another bottle.

A creamy, nutty profile. The body is full, with a viscosity greater than Bailey's. Performs well in cocktails.
