Rating: 9/23 Nose: A pleasant menthol note accompanies the caramel and wood. The vanilla from the blanco is still present but better integrated. There's some orange peel, toastiness, and faint burnt grass. The wood component is a bit dry. A subtle roasted meat aroma is also detected. Palate: Sweet with caramel, vanilla, a hint of orange, and an unfortunately perfumed floral sweetness. It's not as off-putting as the añejo, but still not ideal. Some baking spices are present, along with woody tannins and a bit of rich agave. It lacks significant complexity. Finish: That perfume note lingers strongly, along with the baking spices. It's somewhat overwhelming. I'm not a fan. - Conclusion - I was quite content with this until the finish, but now I'm leaning towards a rating of 9, possibly a 10 at most.

The sweetest tequila I have ever encountered. Some smoke on the nose, then pure sugar. Can a spirit be excessively sweet?
