I was traveling in Spain, a rather unusual place to discover new whiskies, especially in a tiny wine village called "Peralada." Back at the hotel, I noticed a distinctive and attractive bottle of Irish whiskey named "The Galtee Mountain Boy." Naturally, I ordered a glass, and here are my impressions: On the nose, pears and green apple. A prominent thick vanilla from the grain whiskey, apple juice, and marshmallows. It's quite fruity. The palate is like apple pie. Puff pastry, the grain whiskey is well-integrated. Vanilla powder. It has a short, dry, and uninspired aftertaste. Overall, an easy sipper. This whiskey isn't particularly memorable, but the bottle itself is very appealing. I rate this underwhelming whiskey 76 out of 100.

Wonderful whisky despite its youth. Fruits, vanilla, oiliness, and viscosity. The spirits are not harsh, more warm and enveloping. A very respectable whisky.

Good. A little smoky, just the right amount. Wine-like. Around 2200 for 0.7 liters.
