About this bottle

The Busker introduces its inaugural small batch release with this single pot still whiskey. The spirit underwent triple distillation and was curated by the brand. Initial maturation took place in first-fill bourbon barrels, followed by a finish in European oak oloroso sherry butts. It became available for purchase online and at select retailers in February 2024, priced at $49.99 for a 700ml bottle.

A pleasant drinking experience considering its price point. The sherry character is evident and appreciated, complementing this Irish spirit well, much like in scotch. I'm curious to explore more of their range and understand the discrepancy in expert ratings compared to other reviews. It appears the scoring system for scotch differs significantly from bourbon on this platform; top-tier scotches often receive scores in the high 80s, while average bourbons can easily reach the low 90s. My own evaluations for scotch and Irish spirits typically involve adding 10 points to the expert score.
