My initial encounter with Krupnikas conjures images of holidays and a typical wintry scene. This distinctive spirit originates from Poland and Lithuania. The Vigalys brothers have thoughtfully revived this liquor, originating from Durham, North Carolina. The bottle's back label offers the best description of its flavor characteristics: “The Brothers Vigalys Krupnikas began as a homemade liqueur based on an old Lithuanian recipe. Our Krupnikas is crafted from a combination of whole spices, honey from North Carolina wildflowers, and pure neutral grain spirits. Featuring a flavor that is both intricate and smooth, it starts sweet and concludes with a pleasant spicy finish, making it a drink to be savored slowly. It is excellent on its own or mixed with coffee or ginger ale.” I'd also mention it's delightful in hot tea, especially when you're feeling a bit under the weather. I strongly endorse this unique beverage.
