Catalina Cooley 4.5

This is another successful product from a New York amaro producer. Based on a traditional Italian recipe from the late 1800s, originating from the first Don Ciccio distillery on the Amalfi Coast, this is a bittersweet liqueur. It's crafted with rhubarb root, honeysuckle, rose petals, chamomile, bitter oranges, and approximately 15 other components. It's aged for one year in French oak. The taste is somewhat fruity and sweet initially, followed by a strong bitter orange character. It has a thick mouthfeel and a long, fruity finish. It's perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks after a meal. I received a small 5cl sample for $3, but I would happily purchase a full bottle.

Wonderful amaro for sipping or mixing. Sweet fruit and pine aromas. Tastes strongly of orange peel. Possesses a thick, oily texture.
