This limited edition Balvenie, released in 2009, has been discontinued, though it may still be found at select retailers and whisky establishments globally. The whisky underwent aging in traditional oak barrels, which were previously used, and was then finished in barrels that had held Madeira, a fortified wine from the Portuguese island of the same name.

Pure enjoyment!!! It's clean yet deep and exceptionally well-rounded. A gentle initial embrace of nutty, toffee, and vanilla notes, followed by the emerging rich sweetness of fig, plum, and raisins. No harshness.
This was enjoyable and if you come across it... you'll know what to do.
My favorite scotch to date. It's unfortunate that it's so scarce.
