The aroma is packed with both herbal and citrus notes that are very prominent. It has a strong lime presence, as if you've already tasted the lime before sipping tequila. This isn't quite the sipping profile I was hoping for. While some might find the nose crisp and lively, I thought it was a bit crude. The taste is dominated by intensely oily black peppercorns. There's a herbaceous, floral quality that gives a hint of bitterness, similar to dandelion. It's not an unpleasant sip, but the oily peppercorn overshadows any buttery, sweeter, oakier, or fruitier characteristics I typically seek in a well-rounded reposado. The finish continues the palate's profile, followed by a drying, woody sensation. I found the finish to be unmemorable. It was neither good nor bad, just present. Overall, I wasn't impressed. I had high expectations after reading some professional reviews and was considering purchasing a bottle. However, I had the chance to sample it at an event hosted by a brand representative and am very glad I did before spending money on a bottle. This could make a fantastic margarita, as I believe the peppery notes and citrusy aroma would add significantly. It might also be good for a straight shot or enjoyed with a beer chaser. As a standalone sipper? Not for me. I'll pass on this, as there are many better reposado or anejo tequilas available at or below this price point.

Tasted neat. It is clear with a golden straw color. The aroma includes agave, butterscotch, vanilla, along with some oak, green herbs, pineapple, and earth. The taste is well-balanced and true to the aroma. It features agave, light butterscotch, vanilla, and a hint of milk chocolate, balanced by dry oak, cinnamon, and pepper. The butterscotch and vanilla are more prominent in the long finish than in other tequilas, but it also finishes with those oak tannins and some cinnamon bark and light pepper. It's unique in its flavor progression. When I taste butterscotch, I anticipate a sickeningly sweet drink, but this one starts only moderately sweet and then finishes quite dry. It's a bit expensive, but this is an honest, high-quality tequila that justifies the cost.
An elegant agave spirit from Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero for Mijenta Tequila. Nom1499 in Jalisco (Los Altos Southern), crafted in stainless steel and aged for up to 6 months in a mix of American white oak, French oak, and French acacia casks before being bottled at 40% abv. It presents an aromatic beginning with notes of cooked agave, fruits, flowers, wood, earth, herbs, and spices; while a full and elegant body adds hints of bergamot, banana, vanilla, honey, and orange blossoms; leading to a balanced finish of medium length with traces of cocoa, pepper, cinnamon, and caramel.
Initially sweet, followed by a drier peppery finish. This tequila is very smooth with a light body. It has some earthy notes with hints of mint, as well as some wood characteristics.
An excellent Reposado, very smooth, with a light sweetness but well-balanced, and a long yet clean finish. It might be a bit expensive, but the quality is evident.
An absolutely delicious tequila that is incredibly clean and easy to drink. My favorite I've encountered. Tequila made correctly, without any additives.
