Komos Extra Anejo is aged for 3 years in French oak white wine barrels and then finished in American Oak bourbon barrels. The combination of these two barrel types creates an exquisite flavor profile. It possesses a remarkably unique metallic golden hue, which is uncommon for extra anejo tequilas. It's full-bodied with elegant legs. The nose reveals aromas of white wine, citrus, vanilla, oak, and spices, along with a nutty pecan element. The palate echoes this with flavors of dried citrus peels, hints of dried grapes, vanilla, earthy notes, dry characteristics from the wine aging on the finish, and the mouthfeel is luxuriously velvety.

About this bottle
Tequila Komos Extra Añejo is produced from 100% blue Weber agave, harvested from both the Tequila Valley (Lowlands) and Los Altos (Highlands). After cooking in traditional stone ovens, the agave undergoes fermentation and is then distilled in copper pot stills. I'm not great at describing tasting notes, but this is a fantastic tequila. It's my absolute favorite, no question. While the unique flavors from the oak and white wine barrel aging are notable, I distinctly taste clove, which is quite unusual for tequilas. It's a superb tequila, but far too pricey for casual drinking.
Light woodsmoke, brown bread, cocoa, and dark caramel on the nose. Surprisingly fruity with a soft citrus note on the palate. A curious floral taste emerges, reminiscent of violets. Quite unexpected. Medium body with a long, gently fading finish. An unusual tequila that keeps you guessing.
Sweetness reminiscent of Sauternes and ice wine. Cooked agave, lavender, apricots, white chocolate, figs, butterscotch, pears, green grapes, honey, lychee, walnuts, white peaches, coconuts, green chili peppers
Burnt sugar, molasses, pecan pie. A very smooth tequila. Bourbon notes emerge for a mellow finish.
