About this bottle

Tequila Komos Añejo Cristalino is crafted from 100% blue weber agave sourced from both the Tequila Valley (Lowlands) and Los Altos (Highlands). Following cooking in traditional stone ovens, the agave is fermented and distilled in copper pot stills. It then ages for 12 months in French oak white wine barrels before undergoing charcoal filtration for impurity and color removal. The tequila finishes its aging process in Greek amphorae and is bottled at 40% ABV in a blue porcelain container.

Sandra Bail 4.5

Komos Anejo Cristalino is a highly distinctive tequila. Aged for 12 months in French oak white wine barrels and then rested in Greek amphorae, this tequila offers an exceptionally smooth and layered flavor profile. On the nose, we detect roasted pineapple, roasted agave, hints of oak, and fruity notes from the white wine. On the palate, a very buttery texture is noticeable, with roasted agaves, traces of dried grapes, hints of jalapeño, and a dry mineral finish from the charcoal filtration.

Orion Blakely 5.0

Strong vanilla on the nose, with an extremely pure and crisp agave aroma. The taste is remarkable, featuring a warm, slightly fruity, vanilla-infused flavor experience. Notes of mint, cream, green tea, and oak wood combine for a well-rounded profile. The body is moderately light, and the finish is lengthy, concluding with a slightly grainy sensation akin to fine saké.

I'm surprised no other reviews mention hints of mocha and chocolate on the nose and a bold taste on the palate. An excellent tequila that is exceptionally smooth. The maker of this tequila transitioned from winemaking and crafts it in Tequila, Mexico, using wine barrels sourced from Napa. Ideal for sipping.

First time sampling a sipping tequila. I was pleasantly surprised by the smoothness upon first taste. Certainly tequila but with a mild sweetness. I noticed faint hints of vanilla. I'm primarily a bourbon drinker, but what a pleasant diversion. Quite good.

Nose: Salty sea air, toasted agave, white pepper Taste: Briny, abundant minerality Overall: Tastes excellent, very distinct. A welcome alternative to all the overly sweet tequilas.

It's great. Worth the bottle's cost, not the shot's cost.
