About this bottle

El Llano Distillery offers Tequila Arette Gran Clase Extra Añejo, a limited edition made from 100% blue Weber agave. Sibling tequileros Eduardo and Jaime Orendain personally select each agave. The spirit undergoes fermentation in stone tanks and is aged for 48 months in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels after distillation. This tequila is additive-free.

Anton Logsdon 3.5

Six years in Jack Daniel's barrels may be excessive. The barrel characteristics have become so dominant that very little of the original tequila or agave flavors remain. It's an acquired taste, almost resembling diluted JD. I favor the standard añejo aged for 2-1/2 years.

Kari Skelton 5.0

Sweet and smoky, with a mouthfeel and weight similar to whiskey, and a nutty taste that avoids the excessive sweetness found in bourbon.

Forest Winston 5.0

A refined, smooth spirit full of agave, pepper, and dried fruit, with undertones of caramel and chocolate.
