Highly industrial rum, smelling of grain and glue, with medicinal undertones, it evolves significantly over time. The taste is searing, sharp, peppery, and harsh, making it quite challenging to drink. An interesting experience, as rums are typically smoother and spicier.

About this bottle
Ron Diplomático's third and final limited edition release in the Distillery Collection, Pot Still Rum No. 3, was announced in April 2019. The series is named for the different stills the brand employs. The distillery acquired its copper pot still, a batch distillation vessel, in 1959. This rum was matured in American oak barrels that had previously held bourbon and whisky. Each bottle is individually numbered and indicates the date of distillation.

This is slightly the best of the three from this collection, in my opinion. It's the smoothest and most similar to my preferred Riserva.
