Riazul, a Jalisco Highlands tequila founded by Iñaki Orozco, emphasizes the use of mature estate-grown agave and traditional roasting and milling techniques. The distillation process combines column stills and copper pot stills. Their Plata tequila is bottled immediately after distillation, without any resting period, to best present the pure essence of the agave.

The aroma is sharp and direct, but the flavor truly develops when mixed, outperforming most tequilas I've sampled. It's sweet, rich, and complex. While I wouldn't classify it as the ultimate sipping tequila, it's undoubtedly the best for mixing, without question.
This is lighter on the palate than tequilas like Don Julio or even Clase Azul. The agave is not overpowering, allowing for enjoyment of the spirit.
A professional taster detected a lot of fruit, but I only get earthy agave and chocolate. The flavor profile is quite unlike any tequila I've encountered.
Initially quite fruity and sweet, then concludes with a distinct alcohol presence similar to low-quality vodka.
