Riazul Añejo Tequila

As I'm not a tequila expert, I asked the bartender for a recommendation for someone who drinks bourbon. This was it, and I wasn't let down. The base spirit is quite unfamiliar to me, but French oak aging is not, so I find this somewhat similar to cognac, though sweeter and with less burn. An intense aroma of cotton candy and tropical fruit. There's also a hint of smoke. The body is quite thin, and this goes down much too easily. I really like the aroma. The taste is quite sweet, with the cotton candy leading. There's a bit of that tropical fruit in the background, but the flavors have very little depth. The finish leaves my mouth very dry and wanting water to chase it. It's something different, and I can drink it, but I'll keep looking.

It has a gold appearance. The nose is quite different from other tequilas I've sampled, featuring a very prominent sweetness, almost like a banana scent. There are also very faint notes of agave and black pepper. That sweet aroma blends nicely with the agave when sipped. It has a medium mouthfeel and a medium finish with some slight warmth. Definitely a good spirit for sipping.

The first time I tried it, I loved it. Very sweet and incredibly smooth. You won't make 'that face' with this tequila, not at all. If you enjoy sweet tequila, you will adore this one. It has a somewhat faint black licorice taste, which I typically dislike but found acceptable here. There's a long, slow warmth that isn't unpleasant. It feels warm all the way down to your stomach.

Amazing tropical fruit aroma, definitely pineapple. Among the best tequilas I've ever had. Truly unique tropical flavor that's sweet without being overwhelming. I could sip this all night. Excellent.

Beautiful smell from the glass. Fruity with hints of cinnamon and candy. The taste is cinnamon and pepper. Subtle fruit and sweetness. A pleasant drink to sip.

It's rich and sweet, which is great if you're into that profile for tequila. I usually lean towards zestier, more citrus-driven options, but this is still a delicious pour.
