Served: Undiluted, Small tumbler Smell: Sweet flowers, cleaning fluid, dark chocolate cake (vanilla cocoa) Taste: Initial notes resemble a rich stout with chocolate and coconut undertones. The chocolate taste persists through the middle. A slight bitterness concludes the experience. This represents the standard Bourbon County Bierschnapps, a joint effort by Rhine Hall and Goose Island. The stout, which has undergone bourbon barrel aging, is distilled and then returned to the same barrels for a year's maturation, establishing this spirit as a distinct creation from its second and third barrel uses. There are also iterations aged for three and five years.
