Rey Campero Mexicano Mezcal is crafted from 100% Agave Rhodacantha, harvested from high-altitude pine and oak forests. The production involves roasting the agaves in earthen ovens, milling them with mule-powered stone mills, fermenting in wooden casks, and double distilling in a copper alembic still.

When I first opened this bottle, I was not impressed and found the Mexicano to be competent but unremarkable. Now that I'm about halfway through the bottle, I am rushing to get another one. Either the spirit has changed or my palate has, but this is now a wonderfully spicy Mezcal. This and the Tepextate are my two favorite Rey Camperos.
Very intriguing. The nose strongly resembles paint and nail polish remover, HOWEVER, on the palate, it's surprisingly different from the smell and delicious. Smoky, smooth, earthy, and delightful. Tried neat in Sayulita.
Requires about 12-15 years to mature. It has a slight smokiness, a smooth finish, and is gently spicy. I would definitely purchase it if I had the chance.
This one is mainly smoky and salty, with only a little sweetness and fruitiness. It most resembles Tobasiche. Excellent 95
A perfect score. Likely the finest mezcal I have ever had. Intense umami flavors, an extremely long finish, and well-balanced.
