The Red Silkie was the inaugural release within the brand's Cask Collection, which debuted in 2020. This second edition returned in 2023 with a limited production of 5,300 bottles. Similar to the initial release, the brand begins with its standard Legendary Silkie Irish Whiskey, a combination of double and triple distilled single malts and single grain whiskeys. One portion of the whiskey matures in Rioja red wine casks, while another matures in Ribera del Duero red wine casks for six months. Subsequently, these whiskeys are combined before bottling. Bottled at 46% ABV, it became available in March 2023. (SRP $54.99)

The nose is spicy and peppery, with some nutmeg and faint fruit notes. The taste is sweeter, with underlying spice. There's a lot happening here. Notes of dried fruit, sherry, and wood are present. The finish is long, with a light spice on the sides of the tongue. It has a dry red wine character with woody undertones.
