About this bottle

Benriach's Malting Season (Third Edition) is part of a limited annual series from the distillery that highlights seasonal production methods. Benriach is among the few distilleries in Scotland that maintains a malting floor, and this bottling pays tribute to that heritage. Master Blender Rachel Barrie chose concerto barley for this expression, which was aged in both virgin and first-fill bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 48.3% ABV and has been available in select markets for a limited duration since October 2023, with a suggested retail price of $165.

Laura Peoples 4.5

The aroma is engaging and lightly peated, with a delightful malty fragrance. The palate entry is elegant and direct, featuring a woody character and a somewhat tannic start. After a short while, sweeter notes emerge, along with light baking spices and a warm toastiness. It has a light mouthfeel and a fairly long finish. This is an excellent example of a Speyside whisky, showcasing significant terroir.
