Evokes the Isle of Islay Smell: sweet peat and smoke, apricot (from sherry?), raisin, earthy, grassy, mossy, and aged oak Body: full and smooth (impressive considering its 60+% proof) Taste: intense peat and smoke, mild spice, smoky dried raisins, and possibly smoky meat Finish medium to long and warming Note: I'm not a massive fan of super peaty and smoky spirits, but I do appreciate the craftsmanship in this scotch. It's easy to drink with robust flavor. I enjoy the equilibrium. This improved the longer I savored it. Any friends who appreciate peat will find this delightful.

The nose presents marmalade, cottage cheese, butter, rubber, lemon peel, peat smoke, and a lot of funk. On the palate, there's ample peat with abundant soot and ash, medium brininess, before yielding to a lengthy finish filled with tar, ash, and a pronounced drying bitterness heavily laden with peat smoke. Honestly, this is among the finest Islays I've ever experienced.

An outstanding Islay! It comes in at 60% ABV but opens up beautifully with a little water! The aroma transports you directly to a seaside port. The peat is robust yet smooth, and it still delivers a sweet, smooth finish! If you encounter this, get it!

October 2019. Clear light gold. An aromatic nose of iodine, farmyard, campfire, oily brine, and warm rich peated smoke. The palate has sea salt, shore rocks, seaweed, warm rich oily malt biscuits, and some hospital iodine. An impressively balanced, long, Islay finish.

The nose offers peaty smoke, leather, faint medicinal notes, and marmalade. The palate is lightly spicy, with peat, cinnamon, vanilla, and apricot jam.

It begins powerfully, but after about ten days open, the bottle reveals its wonderful character.
