Magnolia Chase 3.3

A blind tasting with companions. It starts sweet with apple notes, followed by a mildly herbaceous finish. It ranked in the upper half of the whiskies sampled. It's difficult to judge definitively from a small amount when tasting 10-11 spirits, but I believe I would favor it over the Pinhook bourbon I've sampled previously.

Bert Christie 4.0

Nose: sugary, butterscotch, and subtle fruit aromas. Palate: Rich, viscous, and syrupy mouthfeel with a slow-building heat. Finish: Piquant spice and oak linger with a pleasant warmth.

Louie Shea 3.8

A leathery finish that develops into a mild burn. Hints of cinnamon emerge at the end.

Reuben Levy 4.0

The finish is excellent considering its price. It's smooth and clean.

Mila Reichert 4.0

Green apple tartness. Warming spices. Veggies. Lingering char.

Loren Chung 4.3

Spicy fruit and charcoal notes on the nose.
