A weekend dedicated to tasting four Irish whiskies. 2/4 Irishman cask strength 2015 (small batch 227/2595) Aroma: Smells of custard, vanilla pudding, milky chocolate, a hint of coffee, fresh resin, whole grain cookies, spiced orange for Christmas, and fresh cucumber. There's also a pleasant note of freshly poured light beer. Despite being cask strength, the alcohol isn't overpowering. Taste: A fresh yet appropriate warmth from the alcohol, with notes of freshly cut apples, sprouted grain, overly ripe strawberries, and a character somewhat like blue cheese or French Brie, but mixed with sweet and sour white grapes. It's quite interesting. Finish: As expected, it's long, with the nearly overripe fruitiness having an equal balance of sweetness and bitterness.

Quite captivating. Bourbon characteristics with a very smooth, mild, malt taste. Rather sweet with a distinct butter cookie flavor. A warm finish.
