If one allows the bottle to breathe for 0.5 hours, it will enhance the body, warmth, and depth of your tasting experience. I realize this sounds unusual, similar to waiting for pizza to cool; be patient and engage in your Zen practices in your garden for 29 minutes. The outcomes will be rewarding. This is a 4 YO blended Whiskey after some investigation. I have not yet added ice or water to this beverage as I prefer to conduct my tastings neat. This was the second 50ml sample I had tonight, a Christmas gift from a friend. This Irish whisky, 2 Gingers, is only sold in a few states in the upper Midwest. It's a standard 80 proof and has a clear, straw yellow appearance, seeming very light like most Irish whiskies. The aroma offers a bright mix of citrus and honey, with a very subtle hint of oak if you really try to smell it. The taste is a little sweet and malty, without any single flavor dominating. A mild burn from oak follows, and it cleans up nicely. The finish is of moderate length and pleasantly warm. While not remarkable neat, I imagine it would add a nice citrus note to mixed drinks. Since I rarely use whiskey in cocktails, I won't be buying a whole bottle, but it was interesting to try it neat and add it to my records. Thanks to a friend for the great Christmas present.

Appearance: This Irish offering displays a light straw gold color. Thick, semi-watery legs slowly make their way down the glass. Nose: The initial aroma is a "grainy" scent, more typical of blended Irish whiskeys, but overall, the impression is sweet and full. Notes of sweet honey, lemon candy, milk chocolate malt balls, snickerdoodle cookies, red apples, and orange/cantaloupe drift through the air. Taste: On the palate, the impression is also fruity and full, with notes of orange, cherry, cinnamon, strawberry Twizzler candy, shortbread cookies, black tea with lemon, and red grapes. Finish: The finish is lingering, with a tannic and lemon rind flourish at the end. Thoughts: For a budget Irish whiskey, this was not bad at all! It was complex and tasty. I enjoyed it more after letting it open up slightly, but for under $25.00, I'll recommend it! Thanks to both of my ginger friends! Cheers!

Pale honey color. It forms a thick ring around the glass. The initial aroma is metallic: sharp, like a jar of new coins. After that, it's buttery shortbread, a bit of milky creamer, and a hint of butterscotch. Not very intricate. The taste has more of that metallic stainless steel flavor, and another hint of milk. Some vanilla cream. Red apple skins and a little citrus. The finish is very metallic, with the silvery metal taste being its most noticeable characteristic. A slight puckering from barrel tannins. Mild toffee. It's an acceptable whiskey, especially for the cost, but it lacks depth. This will work if you need a whiskey for cocktails. It's not outstanding on its own.

I'm borrowing this from another review and won't change much. It's a good mixer! "The nose is very subtle, with notes of honey and malt. The taste is also quite light. I noticed someone mention butterscotch, and I agree it leans in that direction. Honestly, for the price, it's a fantastic budget Irish whiskey that I'm happy to drink neat. There's nothing unpleasant about it." My rating scale: 1 - I'd give this drink away. 2 - I'd mix it, but it doesn't stand on its own. 3 - Enjoyable, but I'm open to trying new things. 4 - Very good; if it's available, I'm buying. 5 - Exceptional; this is a bottle worth collecting.

The price was right to try this. Drinking it neat, I found the finish unpleasant. The sourness is unusual for an Irish whiskey. Although I typically enjoy my whiskey neat or on the rocks, I occasionally drink it with Ginger Ale, following my grandfather's habit. However, 2 Gingers did not pair well with it; mixing actually amplified the sour aftertaste. To experiment, I mashed 5 blueberries with the same amount of whiskey and Ginger Ale, which resulted in a pleasant cocktail.
