A gentle aroma of red grapes, caramel, and oak. The caramel flavor continues with notes of red grape skins. It has a lighter body that becomes fuller with a little water. Decent warmth on the finish with lingering brown sugar. It almost evokes my preferred region, Haut, but it is certainly among the highest quality Tenareze region cognacs I have sampled. I would be interested in trying a higher proof expression.

About this bottle
The Ténarèze area of Armagnac is often overlooked in favor of its more prominent neighbor, Bas-Armagnac. This region offers affordable, genuine brandy, and Chateau de Pallehaut's Reserve blend is a versatile option, suitable for sipping or as a base for numerous cocktails. While French tradition may involve a splash of club soda, consider the potential for a remarkable Armagnac Old Fashioned or Sidecar. Ugni Blanc is the primary grape, with a small addition of Folle Blanche.

A lighter-style Armagnac with flavors of dried fruit. It lacks significant depth but is pleasant served on ice or in cocktails. It's also a good value for the price.
Incredibly smooth, presenting flavors of banana, plantain, and caramel.
Sweet and nutty, like amaretto, really delightful. 1983
