About this bottle

Partida Reposado Tequila is recognized for its comprehensive control over production, from cultivation to bottling. The estate-grown agave, aged seven to ten years, originates from near a dormant volcano in Jalisco's Tequila Valley. The tequila undergoes a six-month aging process in barrels previously used for Jack Daniels.

Savanna Altamirano 4.0

Now, I'm relatively new to tequila. My Grandfather used to say you can't drink it neat, so why bother? After a memorable experience with a certain brand, I decided tequila was best enjoyed mixed, similar to gin! Then a friend told me, 'You know, not all whiskey is the same, and it's the same with tequila. If you want to sip your tequila, you need to elevate your game a bit. You don't have to spend a fortune to find a reasonably priced mid-shelf sipping tequila.' Challenge accepted. He suggested this... and it's good - really good. The first thing that strikes you is the color, a clear yellowish golden sparkle in your glass. The nose is a mild chocolatey agave with unripe green fruit. I get a mildly spicy cucumber or pepper with chocolate fudge accentuating some cinnamon smoke in the body; a large ice cube opens this up nicely. The finish is relatively dry and a bit smoky. Although they use barrels from a famous distillery during the aging process, it's not overbearing and adds really nice character. I'm a sipper, and I'll be enjoying this for a while. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Davion Dang 3.5

A robust tequila made by Maestro Tequilero (Tequila Master) Jose Valdez for the David Partida Zuñiga Distillery in the Lowlands - Central, Mexico. It was aged for 6 months in former Jack Daniel’s casks. It begins aromatically with notes of agave, vanilla, hazelnut & almond; its rich & complex journey adds flavors of roasted nuts, vanilla & hints of butterscotch; culminating in a bold & tangy conclusion with notes of vanilla, earth, fruits, almond butter & hazelnuts. July 2021.

Perry Yan 2.5

Earthy agave and leather on the nose A sweet tequila flavor with a mellow woody character. It's not very complex, but it's definitely decent all around. The finish is clean and pleasant with hardly any sting.

Ali Howe 3.5

The taste is reminiscent of honeydew melon drizzled with honey. It's pleasant but uninspiring, much like I imagine intimacy with a librarian would be.

Jess Sloan 3.8

Initially smooth on the palate, followed by smokiness, very strong finish. May be well suited for margaritas but not so much for sipping.

Iva Zavala 3.5

Subtle fruit and honey notes. I'm somewhat let down as I had higher hopes for this.
