My father-in-law, who typically enjoys such drinks, disliked this and left it at my place. My expectations are very low, but I'll attempt to remain objective. My initial impression upon opening was that it must be extremely sugary, given how the lid adhered. The aroma, dominated by blackberry jam, blackberry candy, and blackberry wine, seems to confirm this. Upon tasting, it is sweet, but not nearly as much as anticipated. There's a subtle tartness to the flavor, reminiscent of blackberry wine, blackberry jam, rosso vermouth, and cough syrup. Regardless, it's not particularly good, either objectively or subjectively, but I might keep it if I have the space. In the glass, its slightly purplish hue makes it appear similar enough to bourbon that it could be amusing to serve to unsuspecting companions.

If you're looking for something easy to drink, this is it. I initially thought it tasted like cough syrup, but that impression faded after a few sips. It has a pleasant, smooth flavor with just the right amount of warmth. I ended up finishing half the bottle without realizing it.

A subtle Moonshine from Ole Smoky Distillery, bottled at 20% ABV. The aroma starts with blackberry, followed by a fruity development that finishes with good balance and moderate length. October 2023

It bears a resemblance to a certain berry syrup, though significantly less sweet. It's very smooth. Ideal for enjoying neat in cooler weather or over ice in warmer temperatures.

Pleasant flavor, but to my senses, it resembles cranberry more than blackberry.

It tasted almost exactly like blackberry cough syrup. More of a novelty, I believe.
