About this bottle

Single-barrel aging is a method more commonly associated with whiskey than sugarcane spirits. However, Novo Fogo in Paraná, Brazil, has applied this technique to its cachaça. Each 53-gallon ex-Four Roses bourbon barrel is sanded and re-toasted before the spirit is introduced for aging. Cachaça from barrel 87 spent five years aging in a warehouse near the tropical Atlantic Rainforest, resulting in a limited yield of 300 bottles due to evaporation.
