Gail Keener 3.5

A potent Grappa made from Chardonnay, distilled in copper stills and aged in barriques for 12 months, bottled at 41% ABV without added color. Its aromatic profile features notes of grape pomace, wood, nuts, herbs, and spices. The taste is bold, with hints of black raisins, blackcurrants, and almond pastry, leading to a warm, balanced, medium-length finish with undertones of oak, vanilla, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. July / August 2025. Thank you to Francesca Nonino for the webinar and tasting! February 5, 2026.

Johnathan Tipton 1.0

It has some interesting herbal notes that taste like a forest mixed with a sickeningly cherry-flavored wood presence. A bit of licorice is there, reminding me of a much more peaceful Jagermeister. There is a lot of depth here and the flavors work well together, but I don't like them. It's a lot like a drier VSOP cognac. Very weird.

Marcel Cash 4.3

The nose presents with notes of damp timber, earthy funk, fruit, and sweetness. The palate echoes the aroma, adding hints of oak and mown lawn. It evokes the sensation of camping. I find these scents and flavors to be fantastic and I'm a big fan.

Louise Sherman 4.5

Pale amber color. Tastes of chocolate and earthiness. Strong dried fruit notes, including raisin and fig, with almond. Medium to full body, feels hot, and has a dried fruit finish. It's like a lighter, more alcoholic port wine!
