April 2024 - Marseille - Surprisingly light color, sunflower yellow like the southern sun. Nose is sharp, woody, and alcoholic. First sip is delicate. A taste escapes me, distinct but hard to describe, which mellows the mouth with a suave sweetness. Second sip has a light peppery touch with hints of spice. A slight bitterness. Third sip is peppery. It has body and power. A man's rum that warms the hearts of lords who miss home. Tasted with a great leader accompanied by a symphony by Eugen Cicero. A rum far too refined for these savages from Phocaea who showed themselves devoid of refinement, culture, and the slightest hint of subtlety.
