Native Hawaiian sugarcane, harvested by hand, is the source for this O'ahu-produced spirit. It is crafted in the agricole style and aged in American oak. The name Kō Hana translates to "work of the sugarcane," while Koa signifies "bold or brave."

A lot of unique character is present. It starts with a slight sweetness. A distinct vegetal, herbaceous flavor emerges in the mid-palate. The finish is of moderate duration. Fans of Agricola rum should appreciate this. Those seeking sugary, confectionary rum should look elsewhere.
The smell and taste are too strong and unpleasant, like motor oil. Even mixing it doesn't help. It doesn't compare at all to Puerto Rican Rums.
I'm not a huge rum fan, but if I were craving rum this would be a viable option.
