The origins of Cachaça Moendão trace back to 1980, a period when the Schimitt family's sole means of subsistence involved raising livestock and cultivating corn, sweet potatoes, beans, and the vital sugarcane, which was grown extensively. To augment their earnings, Pedro Schimitt Junior established his own enterprise, installing a still for artisanal cachaça production. It proved highly successful, surpassing their aspirations. He then pursued specialized training and instructed his son, José Francisco Schmitt, who, with great diligence, imparted his knowledge to his offspring and grandchildren. In 1998, the new family establishment opened its doors, where Cachaçaria Moendão now stands, fully recognized and authorized by MAPA. The quality of the products is affirmed through years of experience in crafting artisanal cachaça, currently in its fourth generation, captivating discerning palates and earning accolades in major global cachaça competitions. At Moendão, the cachaças boast a distinct flavor, a result of meticulous artisanal production, commencing with sugarcane cultivation, pressing, fermentation, distillation, aging, and bottling, reaching the end consumer through a carefully managed process rich in details and trade secrets. Cachaça de jambu com jabuticaba is a blended alcoholic beverage based on cachaça that merges the taste of traditional Brazilian cachaça with the unique, spicy character of jambu, a plant native to Brazil's northern region. Jambu is known for inducing a tingling sensation in the mouth, leaving it slightly numb and offering a novel sensory experience. The addition of jabuticaba, an indigenous Brazilian fruit, imparts a tropical, sweet, and smooth flavor to the cachaça, making it an appealing choice for those seeking new aromas and tastes. It is a liqueur highly valued for its distinctiveness and for delivering a different sensory experience. Information sourced from Moedão and Cachaçaria Nacional websites.
