This is a classic spirit from Costa Rica, crafted from sugar cane. It presents a clear appearance. The aroma is of pure alcohol, yet it's surprisingly mellow and a touch sweet, likely because of its reduced alcohol level. It's certainly suitable for cocktails, though it can also be enjoyed neat over ice (a citrus wedge or other garnish would add a subtle flavor profile). If you find yourself in Costa Rica, make sure to try it... ¡Pura Vida!

The description here is inaccurate; it's more like a vodka with a pleasant, smooth initial taste, followed by some spirit in the middle and sweetness at the end. Makes a great 'sour' and can be enjoyed on its own. Don't be deterred by the price, and anyone who called it 'firewater' clearly hasn't tried it.
