The aroma of Taconic’s Dutchess Private Reserve initially presents subtle hints of vanilla and new wood. Agitating the whiskey in the glass reveals an aroma of toasted marshmallows and pie crust. On the palate, the sweet notes soften, becoming creamier and slightly floral – reminiscent of a buttermilk biscuit with a touch of clover honey. Charred citrus emerges on the finish, followed by a warming herbal quality that evoked fresh rosemary for my palate.
